Pierre de lune

Chambres d'hôtes en Provence

A succesful holiday must include good food, especially if you decided to spend your holidays in France. You will have time to eat a nice breakfast while you enjoy the morning sun. At night there is no reason to have a quick bite because you have lots of time and you don't have to get up early the next morning.

What is "table d'hôtes"?

A "Table d'hôtes" is an evening meal where our guests have dinner with us at our table. Most of the time, this will be on the terrace, on the balcony or in a nice corner of the garden and sometimes it will be in our living room enjoying the sound of a crackling fire.

This meal will be preceded by a home made "aperitif" (=drink) and some nibbles. Then we all install at the table and have a starter, then a main course followed by cheese or dessert. After that we'll serve you coffee or tea. It is a typical French traditional meal. All drinks are included in the price. During this evening we not only make you taste from the traditional Provencal kitchen, but you'll find the influence of other Mediterranean countries in the dishes that we serve. Sometimes a recipe will be from one of the countries of one of our guests. If we all like it so much it can be that we will serve it from time to time. So it will always be a surprise! Of course vegetarian meals (on request) are no problem for us.

During these evening dinners you will meet with the other guests and it is always a moment where people can exchange experiences and ideas. Anecdotes and hilarious stories make for a good ambiance.

And further...

On the evenings that there is no table d'hôtes, we will give you the nicest addresses in the region, a "Auberge à la ferme" (little restaurant in a farm house), a terrace with the most superb view over the Gorges du Verdon or a the best “plat du jour” under the plane trees in Fox-Amphoux and lots more.

If you don't feel like going out? In the breakfast room we have a large refrigerator at the guests disposal. Couldn't you resist the wonderful cheeses, tomatoes and the fresh fruits on the market, you can keep it there fresh as well as that nice bottle of rosé. Crockery, glasses and cutlery are at your disposal too. So it comes that on these nights people will eat together again or find themselves a nice spot in the garden to have a picnic under the starry sky.
